NORSK HØSTFEST NORWAY TOUR ITINERARY

July 3 – Tuesday                                          Print Application                     

Day 1   You will leave from your home city and meet the entire group assembled in Minneapolis at the NWA departure gate or at Chicago International Terminal (SAS check in counter).  Here we will board a beautiful SAS or UA New Airbus and jet our way overnight across the Atlantic and Norwegian Sea to the vivid contrasts of beautiful Norway.

July 4 – Wednesday     BERGEN

Day 2   Upon arrival at Bergen Flesland Airport you will clear Norwegian Passport Control and Customs.  Transfer by Luxury Motor Coach to our five star hotel.  A special “Welcome to Norway Dinner” is planned for you with local guests.    (H-D)

July 5 – Thursday     BERGEN - ØYGARDEN - SLETTA

Day 3   Our departure for the Island of Sorta (only five miles west of Bergen on the North Sea).  This is a magnificent archipelago which consists of 1,550 small and large islands.  Here we will see war and coastal museums, farms and fish farms.  Our lunch will be at a very old trading place.  This afternoon we will travel to Rådøy and Sletta, Western Norway's Immigration Center with buildings from North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota. Our dinner is at Hella Skolesova, near Manger.   (H-B)

July 6 – Friday    BERGEN – VOSS – STALHEIM

Day 4   This morning is dedicated to exploring Bergen by motor coach.  It is a charming 100 year old city surrounded by seven mountains.  A Heanseatic Trade Center since the Middle Ages.  A visit to "Toldhaugen". the summer home of the late composer Edvard Greig, Maria Church, Mt. Fløyen and the world famous Fish Market.  Our dreams are about to come true.  The “real Norway” lies ahead.  We have passed through tunnels and magnificent mountain passes to Dale and continue to Voss, the city that Knute Rockne made famous.  Our tour includes Voss Church and an old farm museum.  Our destination is the beautiful Stalheim Hotel located in the heart of Norwegian mountains.    (H-B-D)

July 7 – Saturday    STALHEIM – FLÅM - STALHEIM

Day 5   Breakfast at our hotel.  Travel down the Nærøy valley to Gudvangen.  Our journey takes us through the new tunnel to Undredal and Flåm.  Here we ride the Flåm Railroad to Myrdal and return.  We travel into the Aurland area.  Tonight we dine at the Stalheim Hotel with a special tour after dinner.    (H-B-D)

July 8 – Sunday    STALHEIM – STAVANGER

Day 6   This morning we have our first stop for a ferry at Buravik and continue to Kinsarvik on the Hardanger Fjord.  A special tour of  a pewter factory and outlet store.  Time for shopping is included.  We travel through the beautiful  cherry orchards area of Norway and continude to Odda where we will pass by the copper smeltery.  Our next stop is Latefoss (Huge Waterfall).  We will now travel through some of Norway's most scenic fjord areas to Haugesund for a tour of "Haraldshaugen" and see the statue of Marilyn Monroe, her family birthplace.  The copper for the Statue of Liberty came from nearby Kopervik.  We continue to Stavanger through tunnels under the sea.  Dinner and overnight at Radisson Hotel.   (H-B-D)

July 9 – Monday    STAVANGER – LYSEFJORD

Day 7   This morning a special sightseeing boat will take us to Lysefjord, Pulpit Rock and Ryfylke.  A unique afternoon tour is planned at Uland Farm.  Tonight our dinner is on a farm in Jaren.  See the Kvernland Plow Factory.    (H-B-D)

July 10 – Tuesday    STAVANGER - KRISTIANSAND

Day 8   The Petroleum (Oil) Museum and old cathedral.  A walk through Old Stavanger with over 170 houses built in 1700's.  More sites in Stavanger and the cathedral from 1125.  This afternoon we travel to Sandnes. Egersund, Flekkefjord, Lyngdal, Lindesnes at the end of the world and the Norwegian Sea.  We continue to Kristiansand for a short area tour.  The Royal Calledonian Hotel is our destination and overnight.  Dinner tonight is with country western singer Bjøro and Liv Håland.  (H-B-D)

July 11 – Wednesday   KRISTIANSAND

Day 9   Today Bjøro and Liv Håland will join us on a Kristiansand sightseeing tour by city train.  A visit to the local fish market, the cathedral of Kristiansand and Morvik Cannon Museum and see the world’s largest cannon.  Tonight is our “Friendship Dinner” and we visit the home of Bjøro and Liv Håland.    (H-B-D)

July 12 – Thursday     KRISTIANSAND - GRIMSTAD - LANGESUND - SKIEN

Day 10   A beautiful drive along the North Sea takes us to a number of scenic cities and fjords.  A short visit to Prosgrunn Porcelain Factory.  Welcome to Skein, Sister City of Minot, North Dakota for dinner and overnight at Høyers Hotel.   (H-B-D)

July 13 – Friday     SKIEN AREA

Day 11   This day begins with a reception at Skien City Hall where we will meet city officials and tour the magnificent City Hall.  We will board the old ship "Victoria" for a tour on the Bankok Canal - Ulefoss to Vrangfoss through seven locks.  Tour the old Aal Manor Farm.  Luncheon on the farm of Ragnhild Hagen.  Time permitting, we will tour Brekke Park and Gjerpen Church.  Dinner with special guests and overnight at Høyers Hotel.      (H-B-L-D)

July 14 – Saturday    SKIEN – HEDDAL - KONGSBERG – OSLO

Day 12   We say farewell to Skein.  We will travel to Heddal Church and Kongsberg where we will visit a private home.  Upon arrival in Norway's capital cityh of Oslo, we will check into the Radisson SAS Hotel.  We will enjoy a tour of Oslo, Vigeland Park, Holmenkillen Ski Jump, Viking Ship Museum and Kontiki plus Oslo’s magnificent City Hall.  Tonight we will have a unique "Farewell Dinner".    (H-B-D)

July 15 - Sunday    OSLO - USA

Day 13   After breakfast, we will transfer to Gardermoen Airport.  We will jet our way across the Atlantic in another comfortable new and beautiful Airbus aircraft.  Upon arrival in the USA, w will clear US Customs and Immigration and transfer to our respective flights to our home cities.     (B)

TOUR CONDITIONS

   
 

Reservation and Final Payment:  A deposit of $300.00 per person is required to confirm a reservation for this tour.  Final payment must be received by Juven Tours & Travel no later than 60 days before departure. All payments shall be made payable to Juven Tours & Travel.

 Transportation:  The tour price includes roundtrip economy class airfare on United/SAS from Chicago. The tour price could include round trip economy class airfare from Minneapolis or Fargo. **

 Hotels:  First class, deluxe and/or superior class hotels are as shown in the itinerary based on two persons sharing a twin-bedded room.

 Meals:  All meals are provided as shown on itinerary.

 Luggage:  Porterage included for one suitcase per person plus one carry-on-bar (not to exceed 45 inches).  Baggage lost or damaged while in the custody of the airlines, bus company or hotel cannot be the responsibility of Juven Tours & Travel.  Insurance is recommended.

 Land Transportation:  Only the Finest luxury motor coach service is provided for this tour including all transfers.

 Gratuities:  Tips, service charges and taxes are included at all hotels and restaurants.  However, gratuities for the tour escort, guide and driver are customarily left to the discretion of the tour members.

 Travel Documents:  Each passenger must be in possession of a valid passport.

Cancellation:  The following cancellation penalties will apply: before 90 days to departure – none; 60 to 90 days prior to departure - $300; 30 to 60 days - $1000, less than 30 days prior to departure, all prepaid airline fare and prepaid or guaranteed hotel accommodations..  Juven Tours & Travel reserves the right to cancel any tour up to 30 days.  In the event the tour is cancelled, Juven Tours and Travel has no responsibility beyond full refund of monies paid by the participant.  Cancellation must be in writing and the postmark shall establish the cancellation date.  Trip cancellation insurance is recommended.

 Responsibility:  Carrol T. Juven, P.O. Box 1266, Fargo, ND  58107 is the tour operator and shall not be held liable for injury, loss, damage or delay to person or property due to an act or default of any hotel, carrier, local tour operator, or any other company or person rendering services included in this tour.  A minimum of thirty participants are required to operate this tour.  We give notice that all tickets & coupons issued and all arrangements for transport or conveyance, or for hotel accommodations are made only on the expressed conditions that we shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accidents, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle or through act of default on any company or person engaged in conveying the passengers herewith, or of any hotel proprietor or servant, Juven Tours and Travel reserves the right to substitute hotels with others of equal or better quality and to modify the itinerary deemed necessary to the proper conduct of the tour.

**  Juven tours and Travel reserves the right to change airlines if it is deemed necessary to better facilitate this tour.  All costs calculations are based on 5.50 Norwegian Kroner per $1.00.  Should it go lower, a small add-on may be necessary.
